*OUT OF ORDER*
September 11, 2009
We are here at UCSF. Grace is in for a cardiac cath. What is a cath you ask? You can find some info here. http://www.ucsfhealth.org/childrens/special/c/22362.html
This is Gracie's 7th time in the cath lab. (three during her original stay here at UCSF and four since being discharged.) We expect everything to go smoothly this time but will keep you posted.
Just got a call from the lab while writing this...
Dr. Tanel (pacemaker doc) came to see us, he and nurse Nancy checked Gracie's pacemaker while she was under anaesthetic in the cath lab. He said everything looks about the same as last time; her atrial lead is still fractured (not working), the ventricular lead is still doing all of the work but seems to be holding up fine. At her last visit they re-programmed the pacemaker and this has caused the battery to drain faster. It now looks like she has about a year and a half left on this battery. Changing the battery is a fairly simple surgery but if they decide to change the leads (and it looks like they are leaning in that direction) it will be a open heart surgery. Dr. Tanel said the results from this cath will factor into to the decision. She will need to come back in March to have the pacemaker checked again; so, at that time we should have a plan for her next surgery in place.
We also just learned that Grace is doing fine in the cath lab, they are going to do a "balloon" procedure (angioplasty) which will stretch out the pulmonary artery which should improve her blood flow and her pressures.
More updates and photos soon.

Troop 391 End of Year Party
Suzanne & I planned this pretty last minute but it really turned out great! It was a lot of fun for the girls to hang out and also for the parents/families to visit with each other. Once again, I wish I would have taken better photos. I wanted to take a picture of every family that was there but like usual I got distracted and forgot. Here is what I did get :)
Megan & Miranda giving Mrs. Suzanne a Leader Gift!
This was Mrs. Suzanne's last year as Leader of our troop. She will be taking a much needed break. Thank you Suzanne for taking such good care of our girls over the years.

TROOP 391! (+baby grace)
Sophia, Sarah and Bella playing in the water
Gracie was loving the water area of the park!
Mrs. Clark Rocks!
Mrs. Clark rewarded the kids in her class who turned in 100% of their homework with a trip to Baskin Robbins! She let them choose whatever they wanted! Miranda thought it was so cool to hang with her teacher during the summer! I tell you, Garin has the best teachers ever!

CHERRY PICKING
June 5, 2009
Today is the first day of summer. Grandma and Grandpa Truhe decided to come up for a visit. We went out for a nice breakfast over at Orwood then headed over to one of the local farms to go cherry picking. We had so much fun cherry picking with Grandma and Grandpa Truhe. Now I have to tell you that the Truhes don't mess around when they are cherry picking! I think we filled up a 5 gallon bucket! Oh My! What on earth will we do with this many cherry's? Sorry that the photos are not that good. I forgot to check the battery on my camera before we left and found out that it was pretty much dead. I kept taking it out and putting it back in to get a few more shots but I noticed that a lot of the photos are blurry so I don't thing my trick worked to well. (although some of the blurriness could be due to my lack of photography skills)

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL
The Last Week of School
This week is always bitter sweet for my kids (and Me!) We get so attached to the teachers and classmates that it is always hard to say goodbye for the summer. Then the anxiety kicks in about who will the kids get next year! Thank goodness all of the teachers at Garin are great so I don't think we have too much to worry about.
Miranda earned perfect attendance for the tri-mester and for the whole year!
hmmmmm... I still think the parents should get the award for this one! LOL
This one is for Honor Roll! She got it all three tri-mesters!
Way to go Goosie!
Coco's class got to have a field day for the end of the year party. They did lots of fun things. Here is Coco with her face painted.

Saying goodbye to teachers is the hardest part of the week. Coco says goodbye to second grade and Mrs. Dailey

Saying goodbye Mrs. Joslin (the principal)

5 years down and one to go until Jr. High School!
FYI: since this posting is so late we already know who the kids got for next school year.

AJ got Mrs. Byrne for Kindergarten, Coco got Mrs. Buchannon for third grade, and Mirana got Mrs. Pray for fifth grade. It's going to be another great year.

MY LIFE... It's a little messy, a little crafty and it's all good.
