Miranda had a game the morning of Mothers day so we were off to Walnut Creek. Her team won the game so everyone was in a good mood for lunch. Grandma and Grandpa Truhe came for the Game and lunch so that was an extra bonus. After the game we all went to lunch at the San Francisco Creamery. None of us had been there before so we thought it would be fun to try it out. The food was just so so but the ice cream was very yummy! Miranda wants to go back with some friends for her birthday and order “the kitchen sink” which is a ice cream monstrosity! I thing it has something like 8 giant scoops of ice cream and another 8 toppings plus a bunch of extra stuff and it is served on a kitchen sink!
After lunch we headed over to a local park to play off all of the ice cream :) The kids had fun playing on the play structures and the adults had a nice time catching up.
I just love this picture of AJ and his Grandma Truhe.
umm, why yes that is an unfinished was in my family room...If it makes it any better, it was a sliding glass door in November. We took it out (we already have a 12 foot door on the other wall, so didn't need it. We are going to put a bookshelf/entertainment unit there, but need to have it custom made...hence the waiting, as the word custom means $$$$$!
My daughter Grace, now 4, was born 2 months early with a serious heart defect. She had her first of 3 open heart surgeries at 9 hours old. A pacemaker, 2 more surgeries and three months later we finally got to bring our baby girl home, along with an oxygen tank, her feeding tube and about 12 meds that I couldn't even pronounce. It has now been almost 3 years since we brought our princess home and I am happy to say she is doing Great. She will have more surgeries in her future but for now she is wonderful and a true blessing to our family. If you want to read Gracie's whole story from the begining you can check out her blog at http://gracietruhe.blogspot.com/
