WELCOME

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our new family blog. We decided to create a new blog rather than convert Gracie's blog to a family blog. Ok, I am not the best blogger out there, you already know this if you have checked Gracie's blog recently. (I don't think it's been updated since January) I am going to try to keep this one updated more often :) Not that our life is all that exciting. I don't think I will be able to post on two blogs so this is where you will want to go if your looking for updates on Gracie's health

Here is a quick update on what we are all doing these days:

Gracie - She is doing so well these days! She is totally off of the oxygen, she doesn't seem to be having any reflux problems and is off of most of the meds that she orignaly came home on. She takes only Aspirin, Sotalol, and Sildenifil. Gracie is also off of her home bound restriction so she can go out and be around other babies. Jackie has her in a Baby Sign Languae class, and Gracie is doing very well in it. She is using a lot of the signs she has learned and really loves being around the other babies. She loves to be around people, being the center of attention and will do anything for a laugh.

Adam - Adam is mommy's little man. He just started a pre-school program at the local First 5 center. It's a parent participation type of thing, he and Jackie are really enjoying it. Adam enjoys coloring, painting, sticker art, dancing. But nothing holds a candle to playing with Legos. Adam and Jackie recently took a trip to Disneyland together and they both had a really great time. Adam is also taking Tae Kwan Do. He is a 'Little Dragon' and will soon be testing for his yellow stripe.

Coco - Coco is just finishing up First Grade. She loves school and her teacher Mrs. Rothrauff. (who Miranda had for First Grade as well) Coco has earned an award for reading and for her trustworthiness. We are really proud of her. Coco has tried a few sports but still hasn't found one that she really loves. Her most recent sport was softball. Her team had a really good season. It was Coco's first time ever playing softball and she kept up with the other kids who had been playing longer than her. Her favorite position was catcher and she loves batting as well. She was not fond of running or catching fly balls. She has decided that her softball career is over (for now) She wants to give theatre a try. Auditions are in a few weeks.

Miranda - Miranda is just finishing up Third Grade. She also really loves school and her teacher Mrs. Halberg. Mrs. Halberg has also invited Miranda and her best friend (Megan, who is also in her class) to help with the Jr. High volley ball team that she coaches. Miranda and Megan had so much fun this year chasing the balls and keeping that statistics for the team. The team invited them to come to their end of year party. It was so nice of the team to include them :) Miranda has also been very busy with Soccer. She made the competition soccer team this year. We have been to two play days (it's like a tournament) so far this year. It's a tough schedule and hard work but she is really enjoying it.

Dave & Jackie - Dave is busy with work and coaching Miranda's soccer team, but still finds time to help with cooking and cleaning. Jackie is busy being a "taxi mom" and co-leader for both of the girls Girl Scout troops and helps out on the craft team for her MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers) group and was recently nominated and voted Public Relations Representative for the Parents Club at the girls school.

Figero - Is recovering from his latest fight and is probably upset with our bringing a new golden/labrador retriever home yesterday...

Ranger - Named by Adam after Power Rangers. He has only been with us for one day so we will have to let you know :)

Love & Hugs,
The Truhe Family
David, Jackie, Miranda, Coco, Adam, Gracie, Figero and Ranger
